Organic Vegetable Pesto Pizza


I love homemade pizza! It very fun to make and you can be creative with your toppings. You can pretty much put whatever you want on the pizza. I remember the first time I made pizza with my roommates back in college, we made our own section on a pizza dough and after its baked, we will try the other person’s side. What I love about homemade pizza are the custom toppings. I love my pizza that is loaded with vegetables and not the standard vegetarian pizza you find at restaurants.

Making pizza is one of my favorite activities to do with friends and significant others. Its a great team bonding activities if you are ever looking to do something with other ūüôā

I know making homemade dough could be a hassle but it is totally worth it!

Dough ingredients:

3 1/2 Cups of whole wheat flour

1 Teaspoon sugar

1 Envelope of instant dry yeast

2 Teaspoons of salt

3 Tablespoon olive oil

1 1/2 Cup of warm water

Dough instructions:

In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Make sure it is even and well mixed. Then wrap the bowl with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for at least an hour. If you have a 9-5 job like me, I recommend making it the morning of or the night before. Be sure to store the dough in warm areas so it can rise.

Topping ingredients:

Organic pesto

1 Whole organic tomato

1/2 Cup of organic broccoli

Organic mozzarella cheese


  1. Roll out the dough. Be sure to use extra flour to prevent from sticking
  2. In a baking pan, lay the pizza dough and poke few holes with a fork in the dough (prevent from bubbling)
  3. Spread the pest and a layer of cheese
  4. Place the sliced tomato and broccoli on top
  5. Bake at 425F for 20-25 minutes until desires

Storage and shelf life:

Recommend storage at cool environment(refrigeration) for no more than 3 days. Recommend reheating using the oven.
