What is Cookie Shot?
If you have never seen or heard of a cookie shot before, it is a cookie in the shape of a shot glass that is often filled with milk or other beverages. This way, you can nibble on the cookie while sipping milk. It is a fun and inventive way to enjoy your classic milk and cookie.
You can use different types of cookies to make the shot. From chocolate chip cookies to oatmeal cookies, you want to make sure to use a recipe that doesn't expand too much while remaining buttery with a crispy, so it is satisfying.
What You Will Need To Make These Oatmeal Cookie Shots?
Shot glasses For Baking
To make oatmeal cookie shots, you need shot glasses as the molding. To give room for the cookie to bake and allow you to fill it up with your favorite beverage, I recommend using a wide shot glass like a tequila shot glass. Make sure your shot glass is also oven safe (most plain shot glass is oven safe.
If you don't have enough shot glasses at home, you can either bake it in multiple batches or bake it in a small cupcake tray or small ceramic cup. The downside of a cupcake tray is the cookie shot won't be as tall.
Chocolate For Coating Inside
To give the oatmeal cookie shot a chocolaty flavor and a shell that divides your beverage and the cookie, melt some chocolate chips.
Oatmeal Cookie Dough
You can use your own favorite oatmeal cookie recipe to make this oatmeal cookie shot recipe. If you don't have one, don't worry. You can use my favorite vegan-friendly oatmeal cookie recipe:
Coconut oil/ Vegan Butter
Nothing beats a buttery, chewy, and gooey oatmeal cookie. To make this happen, you will need either coconut oil or vegan butter.
Brown Sugar
A touch of brown sugar is a must-have when it comes to oatmeal cookie shots. You can opt-in for maple sugar and coconut sugar.
All-Purpose Flour
To make sure the oats bind together, you will need some flour. For a gluten-free option, you can try it with oat flour.
Old Fashioned Oats
I like to use old fashioned oats because it makes the cook softer and cooks faster. But you can have your favorite oat type, and it will taste just as delicious.
Flaxseed Egg
Flaxseed egg is the perfect alternative to the egg when it comes to vegan baking. It will give your oatmeal cookie a "gluey" texture like an egg. It also helps the ingredients to bind.

Recipe Notes
- You must let the cookie shots cool down before removing them out of the mold. If you do it too early, it is too soft and can break. If this happens, you can stick the cookies in the fridge for a few minutes and let them harden.
- If your cookie is too soft or won't be able to stand, leave it in the refrigerator or freezer until you are ready to enjoy them. By leaving them in the fridge or freezer will harden the cookie.
- The chocolate must harden before pouring your favorite beverage. The chocolate will act as a seal so that the liquid will leak through the cookie.
