Mushroom brie stuffed turkey meatball sub is a favorite crow pleaser and super easy to make! Tender, juicy, cheesy homemade meatballs simmered in a flavorful tomato sauce and wrapped in a roll.
The meatball sub is my favorite dish to make when I have to feed a crowd because it is so easy to make and you can make a ton effortlessly. And the important part, everybody loves it.
How to Make Mushroom Brie Stuffed Turkey Meatball Sub
This meatball sub recipe is super easy and you don't need any fancy cooking equipment. However, if you would like to wipe out your fancy equipment, you can cook it in a crockpot, air fryer, or a slow cooker.
Choose Your Meat of Choice For The Meatball
I personally love using organic ground turkey or ground chicken breast. I love eating white and lean meat because it is much healthier choicer than dark or red meat. However, when you are looking for a juicer meatball, look for at least 85% lean meat. You can also mix lean meat with some 85% lean meat.
For this recipe, because you will be stuffing cheese on the inside and cheese will give the meat some juice, it will not be dry. So don't be afraid to use lean meat in this recipe!
Choose Your Meatball Seasoning
Depends on the type of meat you choose, black pepper, salt, garlic is usually a good starter. If you love spicy, you can even through in some serrano or hot sauce. Other spices you can use includes, basil, thyme, sage, and rosemary.
Choose Your Cheese To Stuff Your Meatball
My personal favorite cheese to stuff is Trader Joe's brand triple cream wild mushroom brie. It is soft and adds a great earthy flavor to your meatball. However, you can stuff it with any type of cheese you want.
Choose Toppings For Your Mushroom Brie Stuffed Turkey Meatball Sub
Tomato sauce and parmesan cheese are the classic choices but for my recipe, there will be cheese inside the meatball so I recommend that you leave out the additional cheese or maybe just a sprinkle.
Personally favorite toppings include onion, mushrooms, fresh basil... more cheese.
What is The Best Bread For Mushroom Brie Stuffed Turkey Meatball Sub
Any long roll or baguette will work. My personal favorite is Trader Joe's organic baguette. It is absolutely delicious. Unlike another baguette, this one is super soft and fluffy.
